      Honduras

I have been blessed to travel to Honduras three times on mission trips from June 2006 thru July 2007.  During these trips I worked with people living a city decimated by Hurricane Mitch in 1998, an orphanage that houses boys and girls without families, and a daycare that works with children of single mothers.  When I was there in late December, a friend and I delivered unexpected Christmas presents to some of these children.  Even though I saw some of the most extreme poverty and loss, I saw an unexpected amount of hope and faith.  People with next to nothing still believed in the love and faithfulness of God, not upset that they lacked riches, but content knowing that God would provide their daily bread.  I saw the power of love, touch, words, and faith in action as the Holy Spirit worked through me and my teams in the city of Choluteca, Honduras.  Below are some of the pictures from an experience I will remember and cherish for the rest of my life.
